What We Offer
A relaxed and informal style
How your photographer interacts with you, your family and guests on your
wedding day can make a big difference to how you enjoy your day and the
memories you have through the photographs. Our relaxed, informal and friendly
style receives many praises during and after the wedding. We work hard behind
the scenes to stay on schedule, get the images you want whilst making photography
a fun and enjoyable element of your day.
The Whole Day
From morning preparations to late into the evening reception, we will
blend into the background to record your day, so you can enjoy it for
years to come. By getting to know you and your guests we become a familiar
and friendly face to take the impromptu photographs of everybody at your wedding. Most all day
weddings coverage starts around 10am and runs through to 9pm, although this is flexible
acording to your wedding schedule, ceremony and meal times.
Your Memories
The strongest images (typically about 300 to 500 from the day) are all fully edited in
Adobe Photoshop and provided to you on a CD all within the package price, watermark and
copyright free. It's your wedding after all, so why would you not want a copy of the images to print,
copy and share with friends online through Facebook, Flicker and other social sites.
Choice of Albums
We offer a wide range of albums, from modern storybooks to traditional handmade. Each album is
custom designed by Elaine and me allowing you as much or as little input into the style of
album page layouts. You get to see these, as electronic previews by email, before print, allowing
you to make alterations in order to have your album just the way you want it. Equally if you don’t
wish an album, you know you will always have all the images on the CD to share in other ways.
You Choose the Style
We never forget, it’s your special day and not a photo shoot. By meeting with you beforehand
and discussing your specific requirements, we can help you decide on what styles suit you.
We often see couple anguish over what style to pick. Often the simple answer is all of them.
We can provide a mix of all styles, changing the emphasis according to the part of the wedding.
Everything from the pure reportage to the more traditional, contemporary, fun and fashionable.
Reportage
In fashion at the moment a photojournalistic approach will do what it says and,
if correctly executed, produce for you a story of your wedding day. The aim will
be to record the events of your wedding in a more or less chronological order from a
slightly more remote viewpoint. In its purest form there will not be any formally
posed pictures and the photographer may simply stay in the background and catch snapshot
images of various parts of the day. At the end of the day you will have a wonderful
storybook of what went on which will always bring back happy memories. Remember these
will not probably not be the pictures that mum will want to proudly display in a frame.
The biggest single benefit of this style of photography is that your will be able to tell
a story in pictures. The disadvantage however is that you may regret the lack of formal
images in your album.
Contemporary
Contemporary photography is more arty than your traditional or formal photographs and
uses focussing techniques, movement and a bit of light fun to inject a relaxed and informal
style to your wedding. By using the right settings where the lighting is good and the backgrounds
beautiful the results can be stunning! These will always be the pictures that win awards and
grab people’s attention simply because they look like they have come from the glossy magazines.
The benefit of this type of photography is people feel less posed and the feel good factor it
generates in seeing themselves in such idealised settings? On its own you may miss the traditional
group photography and reportage based story of the day.
Fashion
Fashion photography is similar to contemporary by its nature very difficult to quantify
and can mean different things to different people, to be fashionable it must by definition
be constantly changing. Working with similar techniques as in contemporary photography the
process is taken further than some brides would feel comfortable with and the emphasis can
be more dramatic. This style appeals to the more outgoing and fashion conscious but can take
more time on your day to get the right light and settings.
Fun
This attractive Baronial Mansion has been recently renovated ans is set in
its own grounds, overlooking the village of Menstrie. With a large function
room this venue is suited to medium to large weddings looking for a more
intimate than the big hotels offer. It has 15 uniquely designed bedrooms
and an area of garden is available at the side of the hotel for outdoor
group photographs.
Formal / Traditional
This type of wedding photography is what we are used to seeing and essentially
consists of posed groups and portraits. Don’t disregard it, mum and grandma will
expect this type of picture from your wedding and even through it is not fashionable
at the moment these will still be the pictures you see hanging on walls and in the
picture frame on the mantel piece. This is the type of wedding photography that has
stood the test of time and will always produce the record shots that you will look
back at in years to come as a permanent reminder of your magical day. The benefits
are that you will get all the pictures you expect, the drawbacks are that they can be
time consuming and as a result you spend slightly less time with your guests
